There are four of us: Scott Pryor, Kathryn Temple, Aubree Schutt, and Stephen Stoneburner. We are all from North Carolina in one way or another. Kathryn is originally from Atlanta but lives in Asheville and Scott is originally from Lumberton but lives in Philadelphia when he isn’t touring as a singer-songwriter. Kathryn is a visual artist, Aubree is a senior in college at East Carolina University, and Stephen is trying to become a writer as he documents this trip. Maine is new to Scott, Kathryn, and Aubree. Sea kayaking is also new to Kathryn and relatively new to Scott although they are both learning very fast. The potential for this trip seems to have come to each of us at different times in our lives for different reasons but we share the interest in an open adventure that it sure to stretch us beyond what we know so far.

I’m watching you all from a very dry place. Send some water my way as you splash about in the cool new england waves. Where I am, a drop doesn’t last a minute. I’ve looked at your pictures from a very similar place surrounded by water, wildflowers, and pine trees. I really like the lyrics to the song playing while kayaking. Hope there is lots of wildlife along the way. Hope that you can share some tips with us about your trip and how to plan as we want to follow the same path in the future someday.
